There are certain items that we cannot accept as a charity. While we know that all donations come from a good place – it costs our charity time and resources to redistribute unusable items.
Safety and Hygiene Policies
Unfortunately we cannot accept certain items, such as baby furniture, prams, worn and stained baby clothing, toys for children aged three years and over, opened or out of date goods.
This policy is in place for several key reasons. Safety standards for baby furniture and large items change frequently, and the charity must ensure that donated goods comply with current regulations and do not pose hygiene risks making them inappropriate for distribution. By restricting these items, Baby Basics ensures that all donations meet safety guidelines and directly benefit the families they support.
